The CHATLine

for March 21, 2012

Presbytery Office Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Greetings!

Who is getting the CHATLine in your congregation?

Please make sure all of your elders (even those just elected) and deacons and active people in your congregation are on our email list. It is the fastest and most effective way we have to communicate with our congregations. You can go on the CAP website and add e-mail addresses, enter email addresses via this link or send a list to Cheryl Glenn and she will add the names for you.

Also, you may want to use the CHATLine in the church office and include upcoming presbytery  events in your bulletin or newsletters. Thanks for all you do to keep your congregations informed!

Older Adult Ministry Week: May 6-12, 2012
Older Adult Ministry Sunday: May 6, 2012

Older AdultsStill looking for great ideas to celebrate the contributions that older adults make in the life of your church?

Here are some ideas:
  • List on slips of paper names and birthdays of all homebound older adults/those who live in nursing facilities in your congregation and put in a basket, then pass them out among the congregation. Commit to keeping up with the person whose name you have pulled from the basket for the year, adding to your prayer list and remembering the person on his/her birthday;
  • Encourage/work with the older adult group in your congregation to organize a 'Senior Prom' (or other kind of party) that showcases music/activities/style of dress from earlier eras. The Fellowship Hall could be decorated as if for a prom and all the older adults in your congregation could be invited with prom invitations.
Incorporate these and other suggestions into your spring worship, Christian education, and fellowship programs!
