Christmas

 

Christmas Holiday Office Hours: The presbytery will close at noon on Thursday, December 22 and basically be closed through January 2, 2012. We may be in and out as needed, but everyone should definitely either call ahead to make sure someone is there or have scheduled an appointment.

Deadlines: The books close for the presbytery on Friday,

January 6, 2012. All monies to be included in the 2011 giving must be received by then and all checks must be dated by December 31, 2011.

This service is for those struggling with the darkness of grief, loneliness, or despair. On the longest night of the year, we will look to the hope that can be found in the coming of Christ.  All are welcome and invited to join us.

CAP Hosts Webinar on January 6th:

How to Prepare Your Congregation's Operating Manual

WebinarCharleston Atlantic Presbytery will host the webinar Friday, January 6 at 11:30 am (90 Minutes) on How to Prepare Your Congregation's Operating Manual, led by Dan Williams.  

 

Goals of Presentation:

  • identify areas/issues to address in your session manual
  • determine which issues must be addressed in congregational by-laws
  • outline your personnel policies
  • fulfill the new requirement for your session to develop a sexual misconduct policy

There is also an online option to input the Statistical Report:
  • Visit:  http://oga.pcsua.org/stats where you can go to download the information and input your data. 
  • Passwords have been changed and you need to add an "!" at the end of the previous year's password.
  • Beginning December 9, 2011, Clerks can begin inputting data.
  • The deadline is February 22, 2012.
The deadline for the Letters of Intent and Terms of Call is January 25, 2012.

Financial Aid for Studies:
National Presbyterian College Scholarship Program
ScholarshipsAll across the PCUSA young people are taking up the challenge of exploring what God is calling them to be. The National Presbyterian College Scholarship Program is helping to grow the next generation of leaders for the church and community. This scholarship program, administered through Financial Aid for Studies, a ministry of the Office of Vocation, offers need-based scholarship assistance to full time students entering their first year of college at one of the colleges related to the PCUSA. 

The deadline is March 1, 2012. To apply, learn more, or make a gift to the scholarship program.  Go to www.pcusa.org/ministries/financialaid.
Vacation Bible School Curricula Preview

Mark your calendars for January 23 - 26. 
Come preview and evaluate three 2012 VBS curricula- No Friend Like Jesus: Get Connected ; Clean Water for All God's Children; and Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep with God!. The presbytery office is open from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Come whenever you like and stay as long as you like! Come alone or bring friends! If you can't make it during regular office hours, contact Pie to make arrangements to meet after hours.
