CAP Multicultural Seminar: Being the Church Together
in a Multicultural and Pluralistic Society

Saturday, May 7th, 9:00am-12:30pm, at St. Andrews Presbyterian

Seminar will be led by Rev. Antonio (Tony) Aja

Multicultural SeminarDemographics show that immigration is rapidly changing the face of the United States. Most of these immigrants are from the Global South, where Christianity is growing much faster than in the West. These new Christian communities bring with them gifts of faith, worship, and ministry that are expressed in non-Western ways. In the days ahead, the Presbyterian Church (USA) must adapt to these new dynamics and strive to be a truly cross-cultural and fully inclusive church. Please join us to learn how our congregations and our denomination may become truly multicultural, and thereby faithfully embrace the great ends of the church by fully embodying the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.

Montreat Conference Spotlight:
"Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity"
May 23-27, 2011
Generosity Quote

Most of the contemporary resources that deal with congregational finances focus on fundraising techniques.  But the mechanisms, such as capital campaigns, are like icing on a cake and do not offer a long-term plan for sustainability.  "Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity"  to be held at Montreat Conference Center, May 23-27, demonstrates how to "bake the cake" by exploring the significant and necessary steps to creating lasting change within a congregation.  Through presentations, small group and individual exercises, and a high degree of interaction, participants imagine and design their own plan for creating cultures of generosity in their own congregations. Should a group from your congregation plan to attend?  The list of co-sponsors for this timely seminar, presented by the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving and Montreat Conference Center, is growing.  Join teams of congregational leaders such as pastors, associate pastors, treasurers, finance committee members, and stewardship committee members.
