Operator Training
Not everyone realizes that Preventative Maintenance starts with training-- particularly, operator training. Maintenance of your equipment is only as good as the people who are trained to take care of them. Most managers realize this, so they hire the most qualified(trained) individuals for a particular job. Good maintenance managers go a step further by offering, or requiring, employees to obtain training that would help them do their job better. The best managers are more proactive by requiring mandatory hours of training in any field of study.
Equipment manufacturer's provide operators' training because they know well trained operations & maintenance personnel will extend the life of their equipment and thus give them a good name in the industry. Centrifugal air & gas blowers are such a unique machine that proper maintenance can only be done by trained personnel. The flexible mount installation is treated differently than their usual "hard mounted" rotating equipment. The bearing lubrication, although similar to most other rotating equipment, is more critical due to the higher 3600 rpm operational speed. The system operation and valve controls, if not performed properly, could be very detrimental to the blower operation, or even lead to catastrophic blower failure.
STS can offer quality training because as the former Training Director and 1st National Service Manager for Lamson Corporation, I have been providing Operation & Maintenance training to O & M personnel for over 20 years. The benefits of a little more know-how in the operation, service, and troubleshooting of multistage centrifugals cannot be overstated. Call now to send a student to our regularly scheduled local classes, or to setup a training event at your facility. Improve your PM program by training your operators, and save costly $$ & downtime, by going green!
