November 2011
Happy November!

Although you will be receiving our regular Newsletter in a few days, there are a couple of items we wanted you to know about that can't wait.

We don't often send you mail outside the regular schedule, so you know this is something different. And we promise not to abuse the privilege of communicating with you.

Gratefully Yours,

Fr. John R. Sheehan, SJ
Chairman

SATURDAY,   NOVEMBER 12

This Saturday, Kathleen Lynch, our Executive Director, and Manuel Albino, who works with direct mail and fund-raising, will be featured guests on Sirius Radio on Encuentro con Jesus, a Spanish language program focusing on Catholic evangelization.

It is a call-in show, so (if you speak Spanish) please listen and call in! And tell your friends.

NFL SUPER BOWL RAFFLE
Drawing on November 16
NFL Ticket
We only have about six or seven tickets left. At the moment you can still buy tickets on line, but that will shortly be cut off, and you will have to call to reserve a ticket.
(212 473-7800)

First Prize is 2 tickets to the Super Bowl, air fare, 4 nights in a hotel, and 2 tickets to the NFL Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner the night before the game, with at least one Hall of Fame player at each table. If you don't want to go, you can take a $5,000 alternate prize.

Second prize is $1,000 and 3rd prize is $500. Only 250 are sold, so you have a 3 in 250 shot of winning something.

Tickets are $100 apiece. Don't miss this great opportunity. Proceeds benefit both the Xavier Society for the Blind and the NFL Alumni Foundation which helps former players in need.
VETERANS  DAY
Remember the Vets

Line of stars
We hope we don't have to remind you, but Friday, November 11, is Veterans Day. There will be parades in many cities and ceremonies in many places. In New York, there will be a large parade up 5th Avenue, and a special ceremony open to the public on the pier next to the USS Intrepid at 3 PM.

I will be marching in the parade, and offering the invocation at the ceremony.

Wherever you are, take a minute to thank a vet for his or her service.
