Greetings!

Hello everyone!

Last month at CSNC we performed our 6000th spay/neuter surgery! According to population estimates, this means we have effectively prevented the births of more than 24,000 unwanted pets so far!

CSNC's 6000th, Cayman
CSNC's 6000th!

We have now set our sights on a new goal for 2011, performing our 10,000th spay/neuter surgery.  It is because of folks like you and the many others who support spay/neuter, that we know we will get there.

On that note, I want to send a special thank you to Mayor Bill Barnett and the City of Naples for February's  Spay Day Proclamation, to our sponsors and the many volunteers and participants of Mardi Paws who made it a great success, and to Whole Foods in Naples for their recent contribution of 5% of their net sales from March 9. Please read about these special events in this issue and be sure to follow the media links to some adorable photos and video I think you will really enjoy.

In upcoming weeks, CSNC will be stepping up our community outreach and education programs, further developing our free transport program and holding special promotions and discount days, attempting to reach pet owners in all areas of SW Florida in need of our Clinic's services. Check out our Events & Volunteer Needs for information on how you can help CSNC achieve our goal for 2011.

As always, thank you all so much for your continued support of our mission to end unnecessary euthanasia of homeless pets. Together we are saving lives!

SpayDayMayor Barnett Announces Spay Day Resolution with CSNC

We kicked off our Spay Day celebrations on the morning of Feb. 16, with a Proclamation signed by Naples Mayor Bill Barnett at City Hall of Naples. The Proclamation resolved that February 22, 2011 was to be designated as Spay Day. The Mayor kindly urged residents to observe the day by having their own pets spayed or neutered or by sponsoring the spaying or neutering of an animal in need.  The Mayor then thanked CSNC for its efforts to address the pet overpopulation crisis in the community.  Dr. Fisher and Pallas DIaz of CSNC were then presented with the signed Proclamation, which is now on display at the Clinic.

Spay Day is an international campaign of The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International to promote the life-saving benefits of spaying and neutering.  It takes place each year on the last Tuesday of February.

CSNC's $5 Feline Fix

On Feb. 22, we hosted a $5 Feline Fix - a $5 male cat neuter day.  This day helped to promote spay/neuter as a humane and effective means of reducing the number of feral cats and cats who are euthanized in shelters each year. The one day neuter-a-thon was a great success and just in time as SW Florida enters its "kitten season".

CSNC's normal prices for male cat neuters are just $45, cat spays, only $55. Call the Clinic today at 239-514-SNIP to schedule your kitty's appointment.
