Dr. Van Raalte started in plastic surgery in 1989 after completing medical school at the University of Wisconsin, 5 years of general surgery residencey at the University of Illinois, and 2 years of plastic surgery residency at Indiana University. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Van Raalte specializes in procedures such as facelifts, fat grafting to the face, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, reduction and lifts, eye and brow surgery, otoplasty, abdominoplasty, liposuction, Botox® and injectable fillers as well as other cosmetic procedures. Dr. Van Raalte also has a reconstructive component to his practice and does lesion and skin cancer removal, hand surgery, breast reduction and reconstruction. He also works one afternoon a week at the Trinity Terrace Park Hospital in the Wound Care Clinic. |

ASPS Conference in Seattle, Washington
Dr. Van Raalte attended the annual conference of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons which was held at the end of October in Seattle, WA. In addition to his 20 years of experience, Dr. keeps current in all the latest advances of plastic surgery.
Dr. attended committee meetings as Treasurer of the Board for the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons and also the meeting of the CPT and coding committees. In addition, he attended the scientific program; of note was the Emerging Trends of Plastic Surgery. Key items included news that a Botulinum toxin cream (avoiding needles) will be available in a few years and information as to why Smart Lipo™ is a 'dumb lipo'.
Dr. also attended courses on breast reconstruction for the correction of irregularities caused by a lumpectomy or radiation treatment. |
