 This month's issue of the WIKA TRONIC News, features the WIKA TRONIC D-10 Pressure Transmitter with Digital Output (left)and the WIKA TRONIC C-10 OEM Pressure Transmitter for Industrial Applications (below). Pressure Transmitters for Precision Measurement in the Field |

The WIKA TRONIC line of D-10 pressure transmitters with digital output is designed to enable communication to a PC, which is needed in the field of test, calibration and service technology. CANopen Digital Signal Processing with Bessel Low-Pass Filter Pressure Sensors |

Of particular interest in engine development test stands is the measurement of operating pressures. Pressure transmitters with digital signal processing and standardized CANopen interfaces have proved their worth in this kind of application. In order to take the burden off higher-level control, distributed signal conditioning within measuring instruments that use a digital Bessel low-pass filter was the solution required for the application described in this article.  CANopen is now emerging as a technically superior, cost effective alternative to traditional analog solutions. The two main problems in working with bus systems are the know-how required and possible incompatibility among the devices involved. Through the CAN in Automation international users' and manufacturers' group (CiA) and appropriate standard definitions (e.g. CiA DS 301 and CiA DS 404) the required compatibility of basic functions can be realized.
