Greetings! 

Twice a year the board of GO comes together at our ministry headquarters here in Wilmore, Kentucky. They discuss ministry progress and ways GO can better help people develop and pursue their passion for fulfilling their great commission. The meeting was held September 21-22.

Board focus is on three major areas; governance, strategic planning, and finance. The meeting started with an exciting report by the President and Senior Vice President, updating the group on what has transpired since their last gathering. Then they break into the three committees and get down to business.The results of those committee meetings are then shared with the full board and staff for discussion.

Plans to emphasize severalareas of ministry emerged from this discussion, namely, expanding our homeland mission efforts, recruiting more students for the GO Institute for InterNational Leadership and growing our international mission team ministry. 

"Every time our GO board gathers our staff walks away with a number of good ideas and a list of things that need to be implemented. That guides our goal setting for the next six months," GO's President, Bert Jones said.

"We are always planning for growth. We hope to grow our student ministry, to increase the number of people going on mission trips and as the Lord provides, increase our contribution revenues," Sr. Vice President, Ron Houp said. 

"Last year we implemented a three year strategic plan. These are the steps that we believe that God is leading us to take to grow the ministry toward the future that God has for us. As we implement the plan we are seeing real expansion in the ministry," Bert said.

"The meeting went very well. It is a great group of men and women who love the Lord and want to see the Great Commission fulfilled. They love GO and want it to be as effective as possible." Ron said.

 Let me introduce you to a few of the GO board members.

Bob Willis is from Dothan, Alabama has been a board member for 8 years. "I have been on mission trips since high school and I enjoy going to different places and meeting different people. It's a jump start on Heaven," Bob said. 

JoAnn Stringfellow is Secretary of the board and lives in Panama City Florida. This is JoAnn's seventh year on the board. Joanne has been a nurse for 37 years, so she connects easily with GO's medical and prayer ministries.

Another long time member of the GO board is Mr. J.L. Lynn. J.L. is from Lexington, Kentucky and has a passion for the country of Peru. He has traveled there with GO four or five times and and one of his favorite trips was working with his oldest son, Jason to provide clean water to villages in Peru. J.L. When asked about GO's ministry he says "I see GO International going farther than ever before, stretching into new territory, and reaching more for Christ."
