Do you want to use your medical gifts and training to tell others about Jesus? If you are not a medical professional, would you like to go and help the medical professionals serve patients by welcoming the patients at the clinic, praying with them and ministering to their children?
We have 2 great opportunities this summer for you to do this very thing. First, there is a medical team heading to Bogota, Colombia on June 20-28, 2012. This team will provide medical care in a variety of settings in under the direction of our partner, Children's Vision International. We will minister to CVI children and families in Bogota. We will spend 2 days in the remote jungle village of Choco.
For this team to Colombia, we have special need for OB-GYN, Urology, Anesthesia, General Surgery, other medical specialties as well as primary care physicians, PAs/NPs, dentists, nurses, dental assistants, pharmacists and students. Non-medical people are also welcome and will be able to help professionals in the clinic, help with logistics, patient flow, evangelism and ministry to children.
The second opportunity is in Yurimaguas, Peru on July 13-21, 2012. In Yurimaguas, we will provide medical care to the poor in Amazon region of Peru who do not have access to care. We will provide outpatient medical and dental care, medications and minor procedures. The team will stay two nights in Alfonso, staying in the local school. We will then travel to Yurimaguas for 3 days of clinic there.
For this team to Yurimaguas, we need primary care physicians, PAs/NPs, dentists, nurses, dental assistants, pharmacists. Non-medical people are also welcome and will be able to help professionals in the clinic, help with logistics, patient flow, evangelism and health education.
Our ulitmate goal is to be of assistance to our international partners in the places where we minister. We realize that our time on the field is short, but by working alongside the local church, the attention is drawn to the work being done by the local church. Come join us this year as we serve those in great need with the love of the Great Physician.
