A Room for Daysy

Daysy

Greetings!

Mark Lewis, a member of our GO team shared this report with us recently. I want you to hear it also.

Our 13 member GO InterNational team climbed out of the van and walked through the dust and dirt. We found Daysy lying on her homemade pillow of straw stuffed old trousers on the tiny front porch of the small two room concrete block house. Her twisted hands shook with excitement as she lifted her head up just a little and squealed with delight as she gawked at the light skinned norteamericanos. Her mother helped her sit erect as she swished flies away from Daysy's face with a dirty remnant of an old towel. We could smell the evidence that this house was home to a horse as well. There was no mistaking that the cart pulling horse, now absent, that provided family income, parked close to the house when it was home.

Daysy has cerebral palsy and can't walk, talk, dress or feed herself. Over the past few years, several GO teams have ministered to Daysy and her family. After several days of construction, our team left Daysy smiling in her new bed with fresh linens and a new pillow. As we gathered to dedicate this new room, her mother told us she had just bathed her; not an easy chore when you have to carry the water from the  community well located down the dusty street. Daysy was now washed over by the breeze of a new electric fan by her bedside. There is also a newly tiled floor and freshly painted walls in her bedroom.

 Daysy 2

As we blessed this home and family, we read Isaiah 35 with not a dry eye in the house.

...he will come to save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing. For the waters shall burst forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. ...A "highway shall be there and a road, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. ...But the redeemed shall walk there, and the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion singing, with everlasting joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Your support allows us to minister to the poor and share the good news with the lost. Thank you! A gift this month will help GO continue its mission to share the gospel with every tribe and tongue and nation.

Thank you and God bless you richly!

Sincerely,
