Jorge and Zoila Ramirez

Happy Friday to you!

While the drug war is still raging in Juarez, Mexico, the battle with cancer has ended in the body of Jorge Ramirez.  Jorge and his wife, Zoila arrived in the states on November 2nd and had surgery on November 9th at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Just to refresh our readers memory, Jorge was blessed with the gift of having his trip, surgery, and all of his medical expenses paid for by a local group that included doctors, nurses, hospitals, churches and ministries and GO InterNational supporters.

Now it is almost a month since Jorge's surgery to remove the cancer, and we want to give our readers an update on Jorge and Zoila.  "First of all, we would just like to say we are very grateful to everyone.  There are no words to express our gratitude.  The hospital was wonderful, they were so helpful, and professional," Jorge said.  Jorge went on to say that he feels great and can hardy believe he has been through a major surgery.  "It was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be." Being away from his children, family and church in Juarez, Mexico proved to be the most difficult.  Jorge is now cancer free.

Jorge indicated that this has been humbling experience, to see how God has taken care and provided for him and his family.  "I've learned how precious time is and how fragile life is, and that we need to concentrate on what matters.  This experience has provided confirmation of faith, answered prayers, and that God honors people who honor Him," Jorge said.

Jorge's wife, Zoila was able to travel with him and be here the whole time. She told of how good God has been in this situation.  "Many years ago, God gave me a Bible verse which has been very precious to me, Isaiah 41:10 which says "do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Jorge and Zoila are back in Juarez, Mexico now.  Please continue to pray for Jorge, Zoila, and their family as they minister to the people there and for safety and health in the days to come.

The GO InterNational staff, along with Jorge, and his family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Refuge Medical Clinic Ministry, St. Joseph Hospital, and the doctors, nurses, staff, and supporters that made Jorge's surgery possible.
