Oct. 13th - Praise God, we finally started the conference yesterday afternoon. We are in very primitive surroundings, but there are more than 1200 people in attendance including lots of youth. It is a great difficulty for the local pastors who are hosting us to house and feed so many. Please pray that God will multiply our resources as more people expected today. Thank the Lord for good health.
Oct. 14th - The conference space is totally maxed out with everyone sitting on the floor. There is a sound system and a closed circuit TV outside for those who cannot come in. So far we have distributed nearly 2000 Bibles!
Oct. 15th - Please pray today for our speaking engagements and that many will respond to the Gospel. The cooks needed 400 lbs of rice to just feed the crowd of nearly 2,000 people at lunch today. The place has become so crowded, large numbers of people sit outside under a canopy watching a closed circuit screen. They have been bussed in from all over the country.
Oct. 16th - Inside the building it feels like an oven, with everyone sitting on the ground cross legged for hours listening to the preaching. For fun during the breaks there is folk dancing and the kids love it. The majority of the people are young, but they seem to hang on to your every word. Most are coming from rural areas and live high in the mountains.
Oct. 17th - I will preach graduation today from the Bible school. Eddie Sapp is doing a good job teaching on the priesthood of all believers and why we are all called to ministry. I shared on why I believe Jesus saves and then did a session on the work of the Holy Spirit and another session on being totally committed to Christ and Sanctification. The response to the messages has been super. We will meet with tomorrow with those who responded to the call for missionaries yesterday. When people want to respond to the message they can only stand where they are because there is no room at altars as they are so jammed with people.
Oct. 18th - Thanks so much for praying for us. Eddie and I both feel humbled to just be here. We hear many stories of persecution in the days when the church was underground. It is also very interesting to have dozens of Hindus sitting along the walls listening to the entire conference. We are praying that many are saved.
Oct. 19th - Our host, Brother Babu is very interested in having a medical team visit next year. There is great need for medical care as most people cannot reach or afford a doctor. Once the conference closes this afternoon, we hit the road for church services in the mountains and another conference before leaving to go back to Kathmandu.
