Narco traffickers are in constant conflict with military and police officials and are a constant terrorist threat to the people who live here.  The lives of many pastors and Christian leaders have been threatened and more than a few have been murdered for their faith.
 
Last month I joined GO Partners Desiderio Escalante and Wilkinson Grandez on a survey trip to Pichari in this Red Zone. We preached the Word to a group of pastors dedicated to serve their people in this crime ridden area.  As we prayed and shared I learned that most of these pastors serve without recognition and many times living under great hardships.
 
What could we do to strengthen the hearts of Christians and their leaders in this region?  God seemed to give us the vision in four parts as we planned an INVASION OF GRACE.
 
First, a case of Bibles, discipleship materials and clothes would be sent in to fortify the hearts of these special pastors and leaders.
 
Second, we would invite a team of Peruvian doctors and nurses to come in August and offer people in the nearby villages free medical and dental assistance.
 
Third, in connection with the medical team we would conduct a leadership conference for pastors and youth and children workers. The goal would be to empower Christians for evangelism and outreach.
 
Fourth, a recognition celebration weekend would be planned in October 2010 to specifically honor leaders who have served sacrificially the amazon region over twenty years.
 
The first phase of the INVASION OF GRACE is complete. Pastor Pablo has received the first shipment of one hundred Bibles, discipleship materials, and clothes for pastors of the region.  Desiderio Escalante made the presentation.
 
Pray for these special servants of the Lord and ask the Lord to pour out His mercy and love during this year of dispensing His Grace upon Peru and the infamous Red Zone.
