Parenting and the Rubik's Cube

ParentingPuzzleRubiksCubeParenting is a puzzle. One might liken it to the emblematic icon of the eighties - the much revered Rubik's Cube.

In this game of logic, the end goal is harmony, balance and synchronicity, but getting there is game of trial and error.

As parents we are handed this figurative Rubik's Cube in the form of human beings to love, raise and "figure out".

Achieving harmony, like solving a Rubik's Cube, takes patience, commitment and a consistent cycle of observation and feedback to know what worked and didn't work in previous attempts.

What if parents were given support and guidance to try out new combinations to achieve harmony and peace in their family?

Elizabeth Elizardi is a parent coach and educator. She believes that there is one program (the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program) that adequately equips parents with the resources and strategies they need to reconfigure the puzzle pieces and strategize around common behavioral problems in their children.

Do you need help figuring out this parenting puzzle?  From now until February, Elizabeth is offering FREE Triple P consultation sessions for twenty families in the Greater New Orleans area. Continue reading.

This year, at our first NOPC session, Dr. Dahlia Topolosky led us in a discussion about how parenting styles are determined by how we view and experience emotions. Continue reading.
