Where, oh where, did my nolaParent FB posts go?
| |
|
By now you've probably realized that Facebook has made some changes and this makes you sad because you're like,
"Where are all my awesome nolaParent Facebook posts?"
or
"What!? I didn't know about that wacky Conservative Mom Group calling for a boycott of Schweddy Balls Ice Cream!"
Don't worry. Relax and take a deep breath. Even though you might feel like you've been living under a rock, you haven't. It's just that some of the new Facebook changes affect how the Pages you've "Liked" show up in your newsfeed.
We know that you love nolaParent and want to continue to get our awesome content, some of which is only posted to our Facebook Page, so let's go over a few of the changes and how they affect you and what you can do to feel normal again.

10/1-10/10: There's really no need to buy NEW when you can buy HERE! Get your fanny down to the Children's Clothing Exchange this weekend for everyone's favorite consignment sale. It's the "Green" thing to do.
10/1: Play Day at the Museum from 9:30-4:30pm. Grab some dinner then go back for more play as they re-open the doors from 6-9pm for Art for Arts' Sake and the premier of the 2011 Young At Art exhibit.
10/1: Swirl for a Cure! @ Pinkberry on Magazine kicks off Touro's 31 Days of Pink Campaign, a movement to spread the word about breast cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Mention "Touro" and Pinkberry will donate 20% to Touro's Supportive Cancer Care Center. Um, Yum.
10/2: Does your middle-schooler geek out on computers? Harness the Google within at this FREE KidsRuby programming class. Have fun and make games, or hack your homework using Ruby! Bonus: the class is located @LaunchPad in the IP building, which, is like, where all the cool people hang.
10/3: Show some love for Baby Bump Maternity at their "Rock the Bump" Fashion Show celebrating 4 years of helping nolaMommies look and feel beautiful. The owners are expecting their first little munchkin so this is a special birthday party for them!
10/4: Let the head-spinning begin! It's School Open House Season and there are so many amazing programs from which to choose. The Parenting Center at Children's Hospital makes it easy with their Annual School Fair for those of us researching PreK/Kindergarten programs. Good luck!
10/6: The New Orleans Parents' Club (NOPC) is back! Last year we blogged after each session and we'll be doing the same again this year. Led by Dr. Dahlia Topolosky, the NOPC is an opportunity to socialize with other parents, while learning positive parenting techniques that will help guide parents through the everyday joys and challenges of parenthood.
