February is a busy month for Hallmark!
| |  In 1925, the month of February was selected as National Black History Month because it included the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and black abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Celebrate this month by checking out the magnificent New Orleans African American Museum. The Louisiana Children's Museum will hold it's African American Heritage Festival and the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium and Insectarium are holding a series of Black History Scavenger Hunts. And NOMA will have a Gallery Walk-Through of African Art.
 It's National Children's Dental Health Month! Hopefully you're already maintaining a level of dental hygiene awareness but if not, February is a good reminder to check out our list of Pediatric Dentists and book your kiddo's next appointment. If your favorite Doc is missing, post it to FB and we'll add it to the directory.
Today (2/2) is Groundhog Day. Phil, the famous groundhog from Punxsutawney, PA, did NOT see his shadow today, thus declaring the arrival of an early Spring. P.S. It may snow today.
 Happy Chinese New Year! It is the Year of the Rabbit. It is a time to cleanse, renew and prepare yourself (and your home) for a year of harmony. It's going to be a good year for home, family, security, diplomacy and relationships. Oh, and from what I've gathered, don't use knives or eat meat.
 Presidents Day (2/21) is a day where we celebrate our 44 presidents. Whether you like(d) them or not, it's a tough and thankless job. To celebrate, head over to Octavia Books on 2/20 for storytime with New York Times bestselling author and illustrator John Bemelmans Marciano who will read his new book MADELINE AT THE WHITE HOUSE.
