New Mom 101...or SOS
| | Now that I have a second child, I am having to reacquaint myself with the local activity options available.
Catherine is almost 1yr now. At this age, my first born was already a 2-time graduate of Music Together, could completely communicate using sign language, knew her alphabet and colors and had coordinated playgroup/playdates every Tuesday and Thursday at the park, the Zoo, the Aquarium, the Children's Museum, the Children's Resource Library and The Parenting Center.
Catherine is lucky if she gets dressed in the morning.
Of course, things are VERY different with #2. I'm busy. I'm not sure with what but I can assure you that I AM.
However, I have decided to make a concerted effort to spend some quality time with Catherine instead of shuffle her around my "busy" schedule of carpooling, going to the grocery, constantly picking up crap, doing laundry and checking emails.
In the event there are others out there like me, I thought it might be useful to have a list of activity options from which to pick and choose.
Now, if you're a NEW mom, I highly recommend getting a group of other new moms together so you can have some company. If you don't have a built in support group, check out the Mom Groups on MeetUp.com.
So here are some ideas to help you plan your days and enjoy this very special time with your baby...who still wears what you want her to wear, eats what you want her to eat, goes where you want her to go and does what you want her to do. (Note to new moms: this time will pass and it will pass quickly.) continue reading...
