Opportunity of a Lifetime
| | Last year, nolaParent partnered with Cheley Colorado Camps to develop a children's essay writing contest to give local kids a chance to win an all-expense-paid, 4-week, first-term summer camp session at Cheley Colorado Camps in Estes Park, CO.
Cheley is one of the most prestigious and internationally known summer camps in the United States.
Last year, the winning essay was awarded to a 12 year old student at Holy Name of Jesus School. You can read about his first summer camp experience here.
Local mom, Brooke Cheley-Klebe, is the great-granddaughter of F.H. Cheley, founder of Cheley Colorado Camps. We are so excited to be partnering again this year to launch the 2011 nolaParent/Cheley Colorado Camps Essay Contest!
This is an opportunity of a lifetime. Please share with friends, teachers, coaches, parents and anyone else who might be interested in introducing this opportunity to local kids.

At Cheley, Campers will...
- push themselves physically and mentally to climb to the top of peaks and hike to high mountain lakes;
- realize there is very little they need to sustain themselves as they travel for 5 days through beautiful backcountry, carrying everything they need in a backpack;
- learn about themselves and discover new strengths without outside pressures or expectations;
- raise their personal standards as they strive to live up to the code of living they set for themselves at the beginning of camp; and
- be supported and nurtured by excellent and mature camp counselors who are meticulously hired and extensively trained.
