Please join Guitars in the Classroom as we take a wonderful new step together to bring music to more schools, children, and teachers! We need and appreciate your participation!
GITC has a rare opportunity to gain access to Global Giving's pool of employee and employer matching giving, GITC must raise just $4,000 in one month contributed by a minimum of 50 individuals. Every $10 makes a significant difference!!

Through GITC's inclusion in Global Giving, together we CAN & WILL succeed in improving the lives, minds, and creative spirits of OUR CHILDREN and the quality of OUR SCHOOLS!
A modest tax deductible contribution at this link can improve how children learn- how they feel about school- and ultimately how they score on tests and grades. Training their teachers to lead and integrate music in academic lessons will reduce their anxiety, bring them closer to their classmates and teachers, and will plant what they've learned firmly in their memories. In short, donating to GITC will make our kids smarter, happier, healthier and far more creative and successful.

In addition to making an online contribution, here are 3 ways you can have a significant impact on our ability to grow these musical services around the country!
1) Select 3-9 people you know who care about kids, music, teachers and the quality of education. Send them an email that begins with a personal note from you. A sample note can be found here at the end of this email that you may wish to use in whole or in part.
2) Post our Global Giving Project link on your social media pages such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Reddit, and invite your friends to participate and repost! The farther you can help spread this campaign, the more lives we can improve with free daily music making!
3) Add news of this campaign in your blog! Tell your readers why YOU believe in the power of music to improve lives and learning. Let them follow your LEAD.

SAMPLE NOTE
Dear (insert name or general):
You know I'm not usually one to send out a request for donations, so please pardon my asking- and know how much I appreciate your consideration! There are many worthy causes today requesting your support today and I thank you for hearing about mine.
If music and children strike a chord in your life (couldn't resist this pun), and if you'd like to support keeping music in school classrooms, please consider making a contribution- even a very modest one- to Guitars in the Classroom through their April challenge with the online fundraising campaign through Global Giving : http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/keep-music-alive-in-k8-classrooms-nationwide/
Your assistance today will allow GITC (Guitars in the Classroom) to qualify for inclusion in Global Giving's regular activities by meeting an initial goal to raise $4,000.00 by April 30th.
This is a great program- very effective- that uses music to accompany teaching in all subject matter, making learning fun and increasing student learning retention. I have known the executive director, Jessica, for years and trust her organization to continue doing excellent work.
If you choose to help out today, thank you in advance...and if you feel the cause is a valuable one, I encourage you to resend it to your friends and your employer. We can help GITC do a lot for schools, teachers, and most of all, children when we participate together. Thanks again for taking the time to read my request for your support.
