Greetings SBC Members and Friends,

 

With another successful Garden City Localfest and some vacation time behind us, we head into the new fiscal year excited to serve you and the Missoula community.  We look forward to seeing you at SBC events this year and encourage you to contact us with your sustainability related questions.

 

The beginning of our fiscal year marks the beginning of our new board terms.  This year we have five excellent board nominees for you to consider.

 

It is also time to seek nominations for our 8th Annual Sustainability Awards.  Let us know if you would like to nominate a business or individual for the awards.

 

Finally, please consider buying tickets to our Local Luxuries raffle, which closes July 30. All proceeds go to support our programs and activities, which help the Missoula community transition to a more sustainable future.

While we are excited to have this great team joining us, we will miss the dedicated individuals who are leaving the board.  Lisa Swallow, Ryan Weisser, Blake Ludwig, Bubba Alsup and Bonnie Buckinham put in countless hours supporting SBC.  We send a big thank you out to each of them and encourage you to do the same if you see them.

SBC is seeking nominations for its 8th Annual Sustainability Awards.  Please send your nominations for the following awards by August 20th to info@sustainablebusinesscouncil.org:

  • Sustainable Business of the Year
  • Sustainable New Venture of the Year (any business, nonprofit, or project of an existing business begun in the last 2 years)
  • Sustainable Nonprofit of the Year
  • Sustainability Advocate of the Year 
  • Strive Toward Sustainability (STS) Program Participant of the Year

Nominees for the awards should be Missoula area entities. The STS Program Participant of the Year must be an SBC member, but all others may be nonmembers.
