Use UltrFlow Filters for Best Results
UltraFlow solid phase extraction filter disks work perfectly with the StepSaver for EPA 1664A extractions. UltraFlow filters have a unique laminar design that combines a prefilter with a high-carbon SPE filter. The result is an oil and grease filter with fast flow, high loading capacity and excellent recovery. UltraFlow filters are available in 47mm, 90mm and 100mm.

Technical Tip
Question: Are your recoveries from EPA 1664A consistently low?
Answer: When your recoveries either by Liquid-Liquid Extraction (Separatory Funnel) or Solid Phase Extraction are low, eliminate the extraction procedure. Obtain good recoveries by taking a known sample and diluting with 30 mls of n-Hexane. Evaporate the known sample to dryness and reweigh to obtain the final recovery. Becoming comfortable with the evaporation step will help the analyst troubleshoot the extraction procedure.
