Let's all pitch in to solve the health care crisis in America!
The legislative efforts to find a way to bring the cost of healthcare under control and, at the same time, provide care to all who need it is a very complex and contentious task. And yet the one thing that would do the most to solve the problem is not in the hands of Congress, it is in our hands. The age of packaged, processed food and more sedentary lifestyles crept up on us as a nation, much the way an extra pound or two gained each year, one day expands our waistlines beyond recognition. If each of us, individually, would take responsibility for our own health, the enormous costs of chronic disease engendered by unhealthy lifestyles would begin to tumble. We would breathe better, move better and feel better too! We do not need to have austere diets or be work out fanatics to accomplish this. If we make small changes in our eating habits and gradually work up to moderate exercise several times per week we will feel and see changes. By taking a gradual approach to improved health, it is easy to stay with the program. As we slowly replace bad habits with new, good ones, the next small change is even easier to make. Before long we look and feel better and that will provide wonderful positive reinforcement for a healthier lifestyle. So as the health care debate rages on why not consider becoming part of the solution? |

We're Working Hard on Our Move to Bigger and Better Space! The build out for our new, larger space is well underway.
The plumbing, A/C and electrical is nearly finished and the drywall will start to go up soon.
We hope that before year's end we will have everything up and running. Once the new space is open, we will offer programs and information that will make Back to Health your community resource for health and fitness:

Healthy Snacks can actually help you lose weight!
They do this by keeping your energy and metabolism steady, avoiding the "crash" that leads to the urge to grab something unhealthy or to eat too much at lunch or dinner. The best snacks have complex carbs, fiber and protein. Some possibilities: a handful of nuts, sliced apple with peanut butter, single serving oatmeal, juice bars, real licorice, soy chips and sliced banana with cottage cheese.
