Trinity Introduces S.T.M. Concentration in Christian Spirituality
|
Growing interest in Christian Spirituality - the experience of the reality of the Triune God disclosed in Jesus
Christ, and the study of such experience - has led to the formation of an
S.T.M. concentration in Christian Spirituality. The study of spirituality is both
self-implicating (opening up into questions of personal faith and practice) and
interdisciplinary (involving textual, cultural-historical, artistic, and/or
liturgical expressions).
This specialized, post-graduate degree program will assist
clergy and lay leaders in exploring Christian traditions of prayer practices
and the study of spirituality through historical, theological, and pastoral
foundations for critical analysis and enrichment of spiritual life. The
curriculum offers a variety of courses taught by Trinity and Bexley Hall
faculty with expertise in this area. Courses include Christian Spirituality and
Prayer, Spirituality and the Arts, Women in Medieval Church History, Monastic
Spirituality, Lutheran Spirituality, Celtic Spirituality, and the Foundations Seminar in Christian Spirituality.

A complete description of the S.T.M. in Christian
Spirituality may be found on Trinity's Web site or by contacting the Office of Admissions at 866-610-8571.
