Here is a first look at "The Rain Stomper" cover. The illustrations are finished and our heroine Jazmin has gone to China to be printed. "The Rain Stomper" has been six years in the making, and I am eager to see the books IN STORES NEAR YOU in September, 2008. Look for an updated website and event schedule this fall.

I am scheduling fewer art shows this year but painting more commissions. These are recent oil paintings on canvas: a tree of abundance and a Mexican sunset. Commissions are a great way for me to experiment with new subjects. If you'd like to hire me, I need basic size and subject ideas and 4-6 months; oil paintings take a looong time to dry.

My biggest project this spring is my first MURAL. Not just any mural: an 8x8 foot magazine-collage mural, to be installed in the children's room of the new Tualatin Public Library. My design focuses on kids reading and unlocking the magical world of books. (The next issue will give you a sneak peek.) In April I will also be in residence at Lot Whitcomb Elementary, creating five hundred Matisse-inspired cut-outs with K-6 graders. If I don't answer my phone in the next two months, it is likely that I've pasted my hands together.
