BrightStar Partners started in 2004 by a couple of former Cognos employees as a consulting firm focused on implementations, training, architecture and best practices. In 2005 we acquired COGNOiSe.com, the world's largest independent IBM Cognos collaboration and support community, and have grown it to over 14,000 experts strong!
In 2006 the founders created BSP Software with a mission of providing implementation-based software solutions to extend the functionality of Cognos software and to streamline manual processes to achieve quick ROI.
In 2008 BSP began actively reselling Cognos software and shortly thereafter expanded to include support renewals as well.

The man who keeps horses lives next door to the man who smokes Dunhill. The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer. The German smokes Prince. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house. The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water. With these 15 clues the problem is solvable.

The first quarter of 2012 has come to an end, and so much has already been accomplished this year that we can hardly keep track! SETTING A REPORT TO RUN FOR CURRENT DATE WITHOUT USING JAVASCRIPT

By using JavaScript, we can populate prompts with values, which subjects a report to potential upgrade problems when Cognos changes JavaScript functions-- which can happen with version changes. This technique uses a little roundabout way to achieve the same thing without using any programming.
