You are a cook in a remote area with no clocks or other way of keeping time other than a four minute sandglass timer and a seven minute sandglass timer. (The kind you turn over - hourglass shaped.) You do have a stove, however, with water in a pot already boiling.
Somebody asks you for a nine-minute egg, and you know this person is a perfectionist and will be able to tell if you undercook or overcook the eggs by even a few seconds.
What is the least amount of time it will take to prepare the egg? And how will you prepare it so that it is neither undercooked nor overcooked?

INTEGRATING MAPS WITH COGNOS BI |
|
By Ted Reilly, Consultant
People often ask how they can integrate maps into Cognos, like those in the sample data. The sample maps included with Cognos were generated by MapInfo from Pitney-Bowes. There are several vendors that offer maps compatible with Cognos, with this article focusing on MapInfo. Once you have your desired map in the supported format, you can decide what features or levels of the map you will utilize in Cognos Map Manager.
The basic map of the United States will deliver state, zip code areas, and markers for major cities and capitals. In Map Manager, you can customize the map to include just the layers you want to eliminate any clutter. For example, you can use Map Manager to cut out a specific region of the United States for reporting.
In order to integrate a map into a report, you will need to make your data align with the map. For instance, if your data has state names, and the map uses abbreviations, you'll want to add a data item for the abbreviation in the report.
For detailed steps for how to integrate a map into a report, as well as, tips for integrating with prompts and other report objects,
