Nathan Wood Raffle Update:

In February we ran a raffle for both the March of Dimes and for the family of two time WORCS Pro champion Nathan Woods, who tragically died while practicing for the first race of the year.  Thanks to all of you who supported these causes and we're stoked to say that $825 was raised for the Woods family, plus we personally kicked in another $500 to make a total of $1325. I'm sure this amount will be greatly appreciated by the family but unfortunately it won't ease the pain of their devastating loss.  Thanks to everyone who entered; whether you were the winner of the raffle or not, you are a winner to the Woods Family.

G'day Everyone,

It was a wild month of traveling during March as we packed 6 two day schools into 4 weeks in the south, the east, the central, the mountain, and the western regions of the USA. And this kind of schedule doesn't slow down anytime soon - we are scheduled to conduct 53 two day DirtWise schools during 2011!!!!

While on the road, we have been working hard to finalize our school schedule for the months of June through October. Check out the relevant dates and locations here.  We have already opened up a few of these schools for registration and several of them filled up in less than 48 hours. So we deeply apologize if any one misses out on a desired school - in some cases we didn't even get the chance to officially announce the school before it was sold out.

Important news relating to some of the upcoming schools:
1.    The sold-out school planned for Dubuque, IA (May 28/29) has now been moved to Prophetstown, IL  which is about 75 minutes south east of the original venue
2.    We are in the final stages of gaining approval for the Price, UT school on June 17/18, and registration will open very soon
3.    The schools in Massachuettes, (Aug 13/14), Fremont, IA (Sep 3/4), Colorado (Oct 1/2), and northern California (Oct 28/29) will be confirmed and open for registration within the next two weeks or so
4.    The school in Maine (Aug 11/12) will open to the general public for registration on May 1 but the land owner's private group can register from now until then

As I said above, schools are generally selling out in less than 48 hours once they hit our website, without even being announced to the general public, so if you're interested in any of these schools, shoot us an email so you can be emailed as soon as registration opens up.

Here is an excellent testimonial that we received from Jerry Curtis, a very accomplished rider who attended the regular DirtWise  school earlier in the year:

Shane,

I just wanted to say thanks.  The last two days I spent at the Dirtwise Riding Academy was the best training Value for my money and time that I have ever spent in the Sport. I have been riding for 30 years and came away from the class feeling like I had learned a lot and was given a lot of things to work on to better myself in a sport that truly has been for me a life passion. As an A expert rider I thought I would be bored or the exercises would be a piece of cake, (not so-I struggled with some of the basics) by going back to the fundamentals it proved to me that I have so much more room for improvement in my riding. I am going to highly recommend this class to anyone I know that has made the investment of buying an off-road Motorcycle. I look forward to the return of the Dirtwise Academy regular training for my son and the HardCore Advanced class when you come back to Florida.

Cheers  Mate.

When I was back in Australia earlier this year I spent some time riding around the paddock on my brother's bike while following my 7 year old nephew who was ripping around on his 70cc machine. Anyways to cut a not-so-long story even shorter I was popping some slow balance wheelies for some entertainment when my right foot slipped off the rear brake at the critical moment, which resulted in a loop out, ha, ha!!! Now I'm sure there are plenty of previous DirtWise students out there that would have loved to have seen that!!!! So, as you can see by the accompanying image I ended up busting the carbon fiber muffler mounting bracket on his Akrapovich silencer. Those things are pretty pricey so if anyone out there has a spare one laying around from a trashed silencer please let me know!!!

We're stoked that the Dirt Rider guys really benefited hugely from attending the DirtWise school we conducted in Montana in late 2010.  Thanks for coming guys and we look forward to seeing you again at another DirtWise school soon!

DirtBike Mama's Videos!

Our good friend, and returning student, Carolyn Reed attended the school we conducted in Louisiana in February and her husband Steven Reed (former National Enduro race winner) shot these couple of videos throughout the two days which show some of the fun times we experienced there.

Wanna Be a Wanker???

One of our other returning students who attended the Florida school again earlier this year brought along some of these classic "Team Wanker" stickers, playing off our old mate Wally Wanker, who helped us out with the on-trail skills demonstrations for the Advanced #1 Instructional DVD. We've got three of them left over, so the first three people who reply to this requesting this sticker will be mailed one each to proudly display where ever they feel is a good spot!

Well, that's it for now - time to head out the door and hit the road again for the drive to the next school, which this weekend will be in Maryland. Unlike most of our schools, there are actually a couple of spots left open at the moment for this school so if any of you are keen please get in contact with us and we'll get you slotted in.

Keep on practicing, and keep on roosting!!!!
