| And the Nominees are... |
Super stoked to announce that Volume #1 in our DirtWise Advanced DVD Series has been nominated for an XTremey Award for Best Instruction DVD!
This is the only awards program in motorsports that recognizes the combined artistic talent and skill
that not only entertain us but has helped dramatically to
grow our sports and its respective audience.

G'day Everyone, It's been another hectic month around the DirtWise household again. We have conducted three DirtWise schools during the month of January, raced at the first National Enduro of the year with our "Full Factory Ride for a Day" winner, we've also been finalizing our 2010 school schedule. Finally, we're stoked to have just loaded the first monthly free online Riding Tip to our Youtube channel!!! Be sure to check it out! Also make it a priority to subscribe to our channel so you can be instantly notified when we upload next month's tip, or any of the other killer short vid's we'll produce over the course of the year. Right now, we are in the thick of things doing the final filming and editing of our next DirtWise Instructional DVD, Volume #2 in our Advanced series entitled, "How to Master Corners, Braking, and Tight Trees". The release date will be somewhere close to the end of March. |

Win A DirtWise Riding School and Help The March of Dimes!
|
We are proud to announce that we are joining forces with the March of Dimes in
Hickory, NC to raise funds to help prevent birth defects and premature births. I am raffling off tickets to win a
spot in one of my widely popular DirtWise Academy of Offroad Riding Schools,
conducted nationwide, with all proceeds from the raffle to be donated to the
March for Babies Fundraising effort.
Each ticket will be just $10 and the winner (or person of winner's
choice) will be able to attend one of the many upcoming DirtWise with Shane
Watts Riding Schools. Simply visit
the merchandise page of Shanewatts.com, and purchase the raffle ticket. The winner will be announced February 18, 2010 at 6:00 PM.
Our family is the Ambassador Family for
the 2010 March for Babies event in Hickory, NC. My son Rionn was born with a cleft palate and has had
numerous other serious health issues. Click here to read Rionn's story.
"The March of Dimes is a cause that we feel
very strongly about, and are proud to be associated with their fundraising
efforts. Although Rionn has
had a tough go of it, we know we are fortunate because so many families have it
far worse. This is a great way for
our family to let other families and individuals know our story, so that we
might be able to prevent another baby from experiencing the pain and stress
that our family and many others have."
If you are not interested in buying a raffle
ticket, but still want to help us make a difference in the lives of babies, donations
can be made directly to the Watts' March for Babies team by clicking here!

Full Factory Ride Contest Update! Tight trees were the order of the day for a couple of the sections at Rd. 1 of the National Enduro series last weekend. It was such an excellent ride except for the very cool temperatures. I'm definitely not a fan of frozen fingers. The cold weather brought 10 inches of snow to our house Friday night so by the time we busted out of the driveway on Saturday morning we didn't get down to Sumter until late Saturday afternoon which meant that Dave Dunnuck, the winner of our Full Factory Ride for a Day competition had to miss out on our planned pre-race test session. Hear everything that Dave had to say about his transition from "just-plain-Dave" to "Factory Dave!" We had planned on conducting this "Full Factory Ride" competition for all six of the National Enduros that I will attending during 2010. Unfortunately, due to the current financial constraints on sponsors, we are unable to obtain the support necessary to continue with this initiative. Sadly, we are now forced to call it quits on this very sought after opportunity. For these remaining events we will still have a couple of spots available on Row 39 for anyone that is interested in joining us to roost some of the most enjoyable trails created. As mentioned earlier we will no longer be able to supply a "Full Factory" KTM250XC for you to use. You will have to use your own bike, bring all of your own equipment and supplies etc, but we will gladly pay for your entry fee. Only limited spots are open for this (2-3 per race) at the following National Enduro races:
Feb 21 - GA, Apr 18 - TN, May 16 - MO, June 20 - WY, and Oct 2 - IN.
So email us to confirm your spot to ride with us on Row 39. First in, first served.....

Buy Wattsy Gear!
The cancellation of our Full Factory Ride Contest means that the KTM250XC that we used at the Sumter race is now up for sale. The bike has a total of 81 miles on the clock - 80 miles during the race, and 1 mile in the car park before the event. It will not be ridden again. It WILL NOT come with these products shown in the accompanying photos; Dirt Tricks sprockets and brake rotors, IMS footpegs, Flexx handlebars, GPR stabilizer, DLC fork tube coating, and exhuast system. They will be changed out with the unused, stock OEM parts. However, the bike WILL come with the custom Shane Watts graphics kit, Maxxis tires (front edge not even worn on the rear tire) and extra heavy duty tubes, clutch slave cylinder guard, and the $1300 worth of Stillwell Performance "Ultimate Suspension" revalving (Gold valves!!!) and tuning. Alan Stillwell will even re-spring the suspension for the buyer FREE OF CHARGE, if necessary due to a physical weight difference. The buyer will only need to pay for the shipping cost, but they will also have access to continued suspension set-up and tuning support from Alan in the future. How awesome is that!!!
The purchase price for this bike is $7200, as opposed to a MSRP of $7800. What a bargain!!! You can either come pick it up from us here in NC, or we could take it to one of our future school locations or along our proposed school travel route for pick up. You may also arrange your own shipping mode if necessary. First in, first served.........
Thanks to our bonza mates at www.ktmhutt.com we also now have for sale a limited supply of custom Shane Watts jerseys. Each one will be signed by Wattsy (with a short personal message of your choice) and will cost $35US plus shipping ($4 within the US, $7 international). These also will be sold on a first come, first served basis.... |

Mini-Me X 2 !
During a May 2009 Newsletter we included a pic of our little boy Rionn sporting a nearly identical boo-boo to daddy's on his forehead. Well now, it seems our 4 year old daughter Eden wanted in on the action as well. Her accidental, full tilt head slam into the door jam resulted in 6 stitches, that luckily has just healed up nicely. (We're making Carrie crazy!)
