Emotion Versus Structure: What Is More Important?

I am fascinated by this idea of structure versus emotion and which is considered to be a stronger choice when it comes to writing or presenting. Is it more important to "structure" your story or presentation in a way that gives your audience a clear concise view of what it is you're trying to say? Or, is it more productive to focus on what you say and how it's going to make your audience feel? The obvious answer is to try to perfect both; however, I am beginning to wonder if emotion trumps structure when it comes to delivering a strong message. For more, go to my BLOG.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 23rd starting at 7:30 a.m. - Sunday, September 25 at 10:00 p.m. at Bricks & Scones, 403 N. Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90004
(323) 463-0811 info@bricksandscones.com

For three days, we're gonna take over this scenic little Larchmont cafe and write like fevered banshees in a 'round the clock marathon of shameless, passionate, imperfect, inspired and reckless creativity.

And to throw gasoline on your writing fire, Larchmont Literary Agency has agreed to read any first drafts that are completed, FADE IN to FADE OUT, within the 3-day period.

Top Hollywood script consultants, Pilar Alessandra, Patrick Horton and Jen Grisanti will be dropping by to provide free mini-consults.

So come get professional guidance, communal support, personal accomplishment, and the chance to be read by an agent.

Or you know...stay home watching Netflix and whining about the state of modern cinema.

This is a free event. The cafe gets crowded, so ARRIVE EARLY or you may not get a seat.

RESTAURANTS

I have to favorite picks this month in Santa Monica.

THE MISFITS RESTAURANT + BAR

I love this place!  Ambiance wise, it is loud but the food is AMAZING!  Some of my favorites includes; Ahi Tuna burger, asparagus salad, baked mac & cheese w/ brown rice pasta, etc. They also win 5 stars service wise because after dinner they go around with a huge basket of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies w/ sea salt.  Love this place!

UPPER WEST

This place is great for a date or group dinners.  It has a very hip and happening ambiance and the food is phenomenal!  I loved the veggie burger and the sweet potato fries.
