STORYWISE SEMINAR - STORY STRUCTURE FOR TV SPECS AND PILOT SCRIPTS
Saturday, July 17, 2010  from 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Writers Junction at 1001 Colorado Ave., Santa Monica 90401

This two and a half hour seminar will go in depth into story structure for television spec and pilot scripts. In the seminar, as well as in the workbook, I will break down several of the current shows that make strong specs. With each show that I break down, I will write a formula that will help you to write a strong spec script from the show. In our discussions about pilot Jen Grisanti Consultancystructure, we will go over the top pilots picked up this year. In the workbook, I will break down their story structure and how you can learn from them to improve your writing. We will also go into universal moments, theme, symbolism and messages. The seminar will be all about guiding you to write standout TV spec and pilot scripts that increase your chances of getting staffed and selling a pilot.

The cost of this event is $85.00

PITCHFEST
SATURDAY JUNE 26, 2010 - TV PANEL WITH JEN GRISANTI
Marriott Burbank Hotel and Convention Center 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

This weekend, I will be moderating a FREE TV Panel at the Great American PitchFest & Screenwriting Conference.  It's Saturday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and I hope you will join me.  For a complete schedule, visit www.pitchfest.com.

The panelists are Janet Tamaro (RIZZOLI & ISLES, BONES, TRAUMA, SLEEPER CELL, BLACK SASH, C.S.I, NY), Moira Kirland (CASTLE, MEDIUM, THE DEAD ZONE, HAUNTED, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, DARK ANGEL), Tracy McMillan (CHASE, MAD MEN, UNITED STATES OF TARA, LIFE ON MARS, JOURNEYMAN) and Michael Narducci (MEDIUM, 4400, WATERFRONT).

There are still Pitch Passes available for the next day on Sunday, June 27th.  Approximately 100 production companies, agents, managers, and studio execs will be there to hear your pitches, and you can pitch to as many companies as you like for one price.  Most writers pitch to about 15 companies in a day.  Confirmed companies include ABC Family, Alcon Entertainment (Blind Side), Atlas Entertainment (The Dark Knight), Clifford Werber Prods (Sydney White), Echo Lake Prods (Away From Her), Imprint Entertainment (Stepfather), ICM, Ka-Chew (Beavis & Butthead), Macari/Edelstein (The Ring), Mark Gordon Company (Grey's Anatomy), Principato Young (Reno 911), S Pictures Inc (Freddy vs. Jason), Village Roadshow (Sherlock Holmes), and many more!

It's a great pitching event and many of the writers who attend have had their scripts optioned, been hired for writing assignments, or signed with agents or managers.  To register, please visit www.pitchfest.com(And be sure to tell them you heard about it from me!)

I will also be debuting my new CDs "How To Write A TV Spec Script" and "How To Write A TV Pilot Script" at Pitchfest.  They will be available at The Writers Store at Pitchfest and on my website in July.

In these CDs, I've included everything I've learned over the past 18 years of analyzing story.  They will go deep into my breakthrough philosophy, which, I believe will help you to write your strongest spec and pilot scripts ever.
