SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER FOR JEN GRISANTI CONSULTANCY INC.Hello and welcome to the September newsletter for Jen Grisanti Consultancy Inc.
My theme for this month is exploring the idea of emotions and business and whether or not there is room for emotions on the way to high levels of business success and achievement. In the brilliant and thought-provoking book, GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY: The 5 Keys to Surpassing Everyone's Expectations by Robert K. Cooper, PH.D., ithe idea of "successful intelligence" is explored. Cooper educates and informs about all the different ways our brains work. Do you use your logic or do you use your gut? For more, go to

WRITER RETREAT IN HAWAII

The retreat in Hawaii was beautiful and memorable! My intention with this event was to prove that you can have a mobile business and a productive vacation. You can take your work with you and make it happen. Achieving this goal was tremendously rewarding!
The best part of this experience was learning about the stories of the locals. In my mind, I have this image of Hawaii where the beauty of the environment universally transcends and everyone who lives there has a stronger chance of experiencing a happy and serene life. With my seminar, I learned more about the people of Hawaii and the stories that are beneath the surface. It was very revealing and made me see the place in a fuller way. The stories were very deep and heartfelt. The pain is definitely there but so is the healing. The beauty of the islands attracts people to live there because of its spiritual qualities. Families get to spend more quality time with their children because of a simpler way of being. Although, once their children graduate, many of them have to move to the mainland because they cannot afford to rent a place on the island. I learned that addiction, like many places all over the world, is a problem there. One writer opened up by saying, "There is real pain here. Addiction is the band aid." People do go there to escape but sometimes not in the healthiest of ways. I am so grateful to everyone for sharing their stories and coming from a place of authenticity. I believe that the the islands are truly a place for creativity to blossom. It is a writers haven. The energy of the islands and the people encourages truth and the journey to finding inner peace.
I want to express a sincere thank you to
The Turtle Bay Resort. It was GORGEOUS. It is located on the North Shore. It is a world in and of itself. The place where yoga and the exercise classes were done was on the ocean and breathtaking. The views from the rooms were spectacular. The staff of the hotel is so friendly, and the food and at the restaurants was extraordinary.

RESTAURANTSLibrary Alehouse2911 Main St., Santa Monica 90405
This is one of my favorite new spots in Santa Monica. The ambiance is great. If you want loud and fun, go to the front part. If you want a quieter dining experience, go to the back patio. The food is delicious! I had the Vegetarian Southwestern Salad and it was one of the best salads I've had in a long time.
