  Our Sister in Haiti

 Dasenie

6-7 Teachers
For the last few years the Tri-Community Youth Ministry have been sponsoring a child from Haiti, Dasenie. Our 11 year old sister lives in Port a Paix. We've had word that she is safe, however we have no additional information on her.

We ask each student to bring $1.00 per month to help with her sponsorship. If we are able to send her additional funds to help her and her family we will do so. Please keep our sister in your prayers.

Tricommunity Youth Ministry Newsletter
February 2010
Greetings!

The theme of this month's newsletter is "Continuing the Journey." We are giving you a sample of many of activities that have taken place and will take place in the coming months. Our goals in Youth Ministry are to develop the student's religious life, build community with our youth and serve our community through "Works of Love."

Blessings,

Community Fun Night

On the evening of January 27th Youth Ministry hosted a Community Fun Night. Students were treated to Pizza and games including 5 WII setups with bowling, baseball and auto racing. The students had a chance to relax and visit. Special thanks to Jim Zendejas for assembling all the technology necessary.

Retablo Project

 Retablo
A Retablo is a devotional  painting of a Saint depicting the Saint's Image and symbols associated with the Saint.

On Sunday January 31st the Confirmation class spent the day at Sacred Heart researching their Confirmation Saint and painting a Retablo dedicated to the Saint. Tina Jelinek began with a presentation on Saints and the significance of the Retablo in the Church. Lisa Lindquist lent her artistic talent in guiding the students in the composition of the project.
