2010 John Deere Hammer-In
The Registration Committee of John Deere Hammer In 2010 would like to invite you to attend the event again on Aug 7 and 8 weekend. As a past demonstrator, you know the ropes, but we wanted to let you know we all look forward to seeing you there. Please complete a registration form by early July and send it in so we can know how many are coming. We will attempt to send everyone a notice of the receipt of your registration a couple weeks prior to the event.
Here is the link to the registration form http://www.umbaonline.org/deere2010.pdf
Here is a link to Stan's letter about the event http://www.umbaonline.org/stan_feb.pdf
We hope to make this one as usual a little more unique, but with the same good atmosphere as always. Generally, the setup is the same, come on Friday if you want to set up and we will be there most of the day to register you.
There is one difference in that we hope to have a blacksmith(s) partner with another craft to display the relationship between the two. You make up the rules on this, but it maybe something like setting up examples of things the smith makes for the their craft and vice versa. It would be nice if you can sort of present that vocally to folks as they come by and stop to talk. Or if you have other ideas we are open.
If you want to dress (or even talk/act) in the period, that would be sort of nice for the public.
As always, we would like your feedback before and after the event so we can make it even better next time. The suggestion of mailing just before the event was a previous suggestion.
The Registration Committee is: Monte Campbell Steve Schaefer Stan Brandon Terry Husted
If you want to mail in your registration form, then Monte's address is at the top. If you want to scan it and email it to me, that is ok too. I will try to acknowledge as soon as we get a form from you. If you would like to forward this email to anyone we have missed, please do. We will mail out to those past demonstrators who do not have email.
Thanks, Terry Husted 2010 Hammer-In Registration Committee
