Send Your Child to Spring Camp
Spring Camps are the week of April 7th. Consider sending your child to an Art Camp, Kayaking Basics, Golf, Kung Fu, Babysitting Basics, Horse Camps or go on a Family Day Hike.Spring Swing Dance and Yoga are also offered for adults.

Special Events coming in April and May
Be sure to watch for several recreation events coming in April and May. Join Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon, Snohomish County Council and your Snohomish County Park Department celebrating added developments to your county park system. diModa Homes, a subdivision of Sundquist Homes, re-aligned, paved and landscaped a portion of the Interurban Trail one block north of 164th Street. Watch for ribbon cutting celebration in mid-May.
Interurban Trail Overpass
Your Snohomish County Parks, along with WSDOT and Snohhomish County Public Works completed the Interurban Trail pedestrian overpass which crosses I-5 at 128th Street. Ribbon cutting celebration is scheduled for late April. Read more...
Community Transit's Bike to Work Day Friday, May 16th
Ride your bike to work on May 16th! Last year, almost 600 Snohomish County residents and workers pulled their bikes out of the garage, pumped up the tires and made a commitment to commuting by bicycle at least once a week.They were motivated by their own health - and each other - to get out and ride. Oh, and the prizes are pretty good, too. For more information, go to www.communitytransit.org.
Spray Pad at Willis Tucker Community Park
Construction of the Spray Pad at Willis Tucker Community Park is complete. Water flow testing, perimeter paving, and two shelters need to be added. A ribbon cutting celebration is tentatively scheduled for May 23rd, 2:00 p.m. Read more at www.snoco.org (search "parks").

Fairgrounds LID Project Nearing Completion
The Low Impact Development (LID) project currently under construction will provide an environmental advantage to seven sites at The Evergreen State Fairgrounds. The development, which is funded by the Department of Ecology and administered by Snohomish County Public Works, includes installation of rain gardens, porous concrete pavement, infiltration trenches, compost amended landscaping and lawn areas and infiltrating planter boxes--all to take the stormwater back to the water table. These areas are expected to be completed by the end of April. "This has been an exciting project," said Herm Moore, Project Engineering Technician Senior. |

Murder Mystery Fundraiser Results
The Mystery of the Pirates Plunder dinner and show fundraiser on March 8th raised $3,500 for local food banks. Calling themselves the Evergreen Players, volunteer actors from Fair, Parks and Planning & Development Services staged the event under the direction of Fair Board member and professional actress Stephanie Haggarty-Moening. Fairgrounds staff members Bonnie Jean Hausauer and Brenda Granstrom serve as producers of this annual fun event. Funds raised benefit the Monroe, Sultan and Maltby Food Banks. |
Kids, Get Movin' This Summer Kids, plan to join this summer's Get Movin' activity program. Get Movin' is a collaboration with several area Parks Departments as well as two area hospitals to encourage kids to keep moving all summer. By partnering with area businesses, participants are provided free recreational activities all summer long! The program culminates with a free ticket to a minor league baseball game. Storybook Theater
Coming soon...StoryBook Theater presents the musical fairytale adaptation, "CINDERELLA", performing at the Everett PUD Auditorium on May 3rd & 4th. Model Hydroplane Races at Twin Lakes Park
Be sure to stop by Gissberg Twin Lakes Park on Saturdays during April and May to watch the model hydroplane club members putting their model boats through time trials and races. Gissberg Twin Lakes Park is north of Marysville along I-5. |
Kayak Pt. Park Pier Gets New Railing
Parks Maintenance crews completely replaced the old wood railing along the fishing pier at Kayak point Park with galvanized material. The design is a much safer railing for young children fishing from the pier. |

The Adopt-A-Stream Foundation conducts Streamkeeper Academy classes for all ages, produces environmental education materials and provides local communities with stream/wetland restoration technical assistance.
