Dear WA Community,
We hope you are enjoying your summer break with family and friends. In this edition of the E-News I would like to share some news about WA.
- Our school theme for the 2012-2013 school year is Trusting in Christ. Our Bible verse is from the Book of Matthew, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). Our Bible study will be the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5, 6 and 7).
Trusting in Christ means believing with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Trusting in Christ means that we do not count on our accomplishments, status, title, money or fame for salvation and eternal life. Trusting in Christ means that we fully understand that it was God's amazing love, grace and mercy through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that reconciled us to Him. During the past few years we have been blessed by themes that guided us to an even a greater emphasis on Jesus Christ and God's Truth.
Our previous themes were:
Growing in Christ (2011-2012) Devoted to Christ (2010-2011) Alive in Christ (2009-2010)
We are very excited about next year's theme and discipling one another in the liberating power, blessings and miracles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. - Please take a few minutes and meet some of our new Kingdom workers for next year. We look forward to partnering with them in the exciting work that God has set before us in the upcoming 2012-2013 school year.
- Please look for our summer informational packet which we will be mailing to current and new school parents today. You should receive it by the end of next week. If you do not receive it by then, please let us know. Please review the information about next year. You may also get the latest start-of-school information via ParentsWeb and the Parents page of our website.
- Please take a moment to read about WA's Strategic Initiatives for the next five years and Key Benchmarks for the past few years. More information will be available in August.
- Please be on the lookout for information about our new Bridging the Gap program that we will send home in early August. The Bridging the Gap program is a newly created program to encourage everyone to help with our stewardship opportunities at WA.
- We are looking forward to the publication of our 2011-2012 PawPrint in early September. This publication serves as our annual report and school year in review. To get a taste of what to expect, you may view past PawPrints on our website.
- Please mark your calendars for our 2012-2013 Convocation on Tuesday, August 14, at 9:00 a.m. in the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church (CRPC) Sanctuary. As a community of believers, it is especially important to gather together in the beginning of the school year to praise God and ask for His blessings over our children and school year. Please join us for worship, praise and a message about Trusting in Christ at WA.
- Please prayerfully consider making a donation to the Summer Capital Improvements that are underway at WA. For more information, please download our 2012 Summer Capital Campaign brochure. Together in Christ, we will continue to prayerfully partner with you to encourage, educate and equip your child in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God's Truth and scholarly excellence for His glory.
- Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information about any of the information in the E-News or summer mailings. Please feel free to email me at orsinol@wacad.edu, or Barb Carlen at carlenb@wacad.edu, to arrange a time to visit with me about any matter at WA. I always want to hear from you. Your input is needed and valued. Your feedback is extremely helpful and much appreciated. Thank you in advance for sharing your suggestions and ideas about WA.
- Lastly, please continue to pray for our students, school community and school ministry. For forty-one, years God has used WA to save souls, equip students and impact the culture for Christ. May God's grace and Truth continue to prevail in the Kingdom work at WA. Praise God for His people, provisions and providential blessings at WA.
We hope you have a fun, safe and restful summer.
Blessings to you and your family in the Name of Jesus Christ,

Leo Orsino Headmaster orsinol@wacad.edu |

Sun-Sentinel Most Improved Athletics: Westminster Academy
The Sun-Sentinel selected Westminster Academy as the most improved in athletics based on points in the All-Sports standings.
With a commitment to compete at the highest level, hours spent in the weight room and in off-season workouts, and a desire to glorify God in all they do, our student-athletes had a remarkable year.
This past school year, the WA Lions had six teams win district titles: men's and ladies' cross country, men's soccer, ladies' softball, and men's and ladies' water polo. We were also blessed to have ten seniors sign to compete at the next level in college.
Go Lions!
