Dear WA Community, There are many ways to measure the effectiveness of the mission of Westminster Academy. One way to measure the effectiveness of a school ministry is to examine the character and accomplishments of the senior class each year. The Class of 2012, like those who have graduated before them at WA, are an exceptional group of young people who shine like superstars. From being accepted to top-tier colleges and universities, to receiving significant scholarships, they have achieved a remarkable record of achievements. Below, please see the names of the seniors who are graduating in the Class of 2012. For information about their college acceptances, please view here. We will have more to say about our seniors next month. Their Christ-honoring character and service to others, along with their academic, athletic and fine arts accomplishments, have been extraordinary. We will miss them greatly, yet we are extremely excited about how God will use them in a mighty way for Jesus Christ, His Truth, and to make the world a better place. Blessings to you and your family in the Name of Jesus Christ,

Scholastic Book Fair--A Great Success!
Nearly $4,000 worth of great books were earned for our school at the Scholastic Book Fair, held during the week of March 26, in the lower school library. Through Scholastic's "ONE for Books!" program, our students contributed over $100 to purchase books for Haitian children living in the village of Novion, Haiti. Joshua and Sammy Joseph and their mom, Nicole, will personally deliver the books to Haiti. An additional blessing was the week-long celebration with ACE student Hannah Lowenstein on the publication o f her autobiography, Hannah Has a Story. Pictured here are Mrs. Briggs with Hannah and her mother, Susan Lowenstein, during this very joyous time! Hannah's book will continue to be on sale in the library, throughout the month. |

Band Classes Continue at WA
On Wednesday, April 11, our upper school French horn and tuba students were treated to a special master class with professional French hornist, Mrs. Joyce Gast from Sheridan Hills Baptist Church, and tubaist, Captain Bill Barlow, a retired navy musician.
Both, Mrs. Gast and Captain Barlow, inspired our students through their playing and practical tips for our students.

May 29-June 29, 2012 Summer School
Summer School is open to all students entering grades 9-12, in the fall of 2012. A remedial math course is also available for grades 6-12. Please view here, a complete listing of courses and additional information. This is a great way for students to focus on one subject at a time, or to make room in their schedules for extra electives or have a free-period during the school year, for those involved in many extra curricular activities. If a student would like to go on the CRPC missions trip to the Bahamas during the first week of June, enrollment in Summer School is still an option. They can participate in both the missions trip and Summer School, however, they will need to make up the work they missed while on the missions trip in the Bahamas.
