Dear WA Community,
Praise God for this year's remarkable dinner auction, "Wild About WA." As you may know, each year we gather together for our annual dinner auction to celebrate what God is doing at WA. Once again, as in years past, we were truly blessed by God's grace and a wonderful evening of fun, food and fellowship. It was also an extraordinary opportunity to raise funds for God's Kingdom work at WA. We are very excited to share with you about His provisions from this year's auction from His people -- $138,763 was raised for His children at WA. The "Heart Raise" portion of our auction is being used to purchase iPads. We are prayerfully reviewing our options, and we will share our plans in the future. Please find the auction financial report for the past three years: 2010 2011 2012 Income 103,857 *211,270 138,763 Expenses -38,254 -25,836 -32,817 Net $65,603 $185,434 $105,946 * Last year we received an exceptional amount for two of our parking places on 56th Street. As you may remember, from last year we received $54,000 for each parking space, for a total of $108,000. Previously, the average price for these two parking spaces, were purchased for ten to twelve thousand dollars each. The cutest auction item, our Toy Yorkie, went to the Verrillo's family. The puppy has a new name--Romeo! Romeo enjoyed the auction, meeting all of you, and loves his new home. If you would like to be a part of the auction's success, you can click here and make a gift to WA. A special thank you goes to our auction underwriters. Please click here, to see a list of our gracious underwriters.
We would also like to take this opportunity to praise God for our volunteers. We are extremely blessed by an army of dedicated helpers who make WA a very special community of believers. Please click here, to see a list of our wonderful volunteers. A special thank you, also goes to our concert band and Mr Carroll, for their willingness to share their gifts at the auction.
Thank you to all those who helped and all those who participated in this year's auction. We are truly blessed by everyone's prayers and support. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Laura Brash '87 Bishop at bishopl@wacad.edu, or 954.771.4615, ext. 2637. Blessings to you and your family in the Name of Jesus Christ,

About the play:
Godspell, written by John-Michael Tebelak, is a joyful celebration of the Gospel, as told by St. Matthew. It is a religious experience to be enjoyed by all age groups. The Gospel, which means "good news" is brought to life by the exuberant cast using many theatrical devices such as pantomime, vaudeville, and creative drama. The music, which is a major part of the story and production, uses many styles ranging from folk, pop, rock, and musical comedy. The main theme of Godspell is to portray the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The final segment of the play makes a dramatic transition involving the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. We hope this performance will have a strong impact upon you--the audience, and that the reality of Jesus Christ will be shown throughout.

Bad News is No Match for the Good News of God's Kingdom!
Listening to the news can be overwhelming, but our prayers are powerful and can change the world. Listen in this week, as Laura Bishop and author Craig Von Buseck, ministries director for CBN and veteran news reporter, discuss how to find a practical guide to discovering the power, joy and peace of partnering with God. Craig von Buseck also shares his assessment of the media, as well as a comprehensive biblical plan for effective, world-changing prayer. Some news may shake us up on earth, but glory and blessings are coming from heaven, to all who call on the name of the Lord (Isaiah 60:1-2; Joel 2:32). "Homeroom" can be heard every Thursday evening from 9-10 PM on GRACE FM 90.3 FM, or on www.gracefmradio.com. |
