Men's Steak Night
Dear Friends,

Our first week of worship using our new format was a rousing success! Families came forward to enjoy the special time during Family Worship, the morning flowed more smoothly, a spirit of worship pervaded the service, visiting families were included and God showed up! What a wonderful day. Thanks to the worship team and our volunteers who worked extra hard to pull all this together.

This newsletter announces several new ministries we would like to begin in the Fall. But, as usual, we will only begin something new if we have enough people to do so. With that in mind, please look at the offerings listed below and choose which study/small group/ministry you want to be part of. There will be sign up sheets (see Linda Gregg) at worship for the next several weeks. All these new activities will begin the week after Labor Day.

Growing in your faith involves more than just going to Sunday worship. You have to learn and study and fellowship with other Believers on the journey with you. It makes for a richer, deeper relationship with God and your fellow sojourners.

An old proverb says: "A journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step." Why not take the first step in growing your faith by becoming a part of one of these ministry opportunities.

Sincerely,
Trey Harris

Financial Peace University Begins Monday, Aug. 24th @ 7:00 pm
Start managing your financial life using biblical principles
Debt is all around us. And it is in our church, too. More than 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Over 35% of Christian marriages end in divorce, and money problems are the number one cause. Financial Peace University has a long history of helping families successfully confront these problems head on.

The program is a biblically based accountability curriculum that will teach your church to manage God's money and resources in a godly way. It empowers them to make the right financial decisions to achieve their financial goals, teaching them to eliminate debt, build wealth, and give like never before. On average, families reduce their debt by $5,300 and save $2,700 in just 91 days.

FPU runs for 13 weeks and participants must enroll and purchase program materials. The cost of this life changing program is $100.00 per family (scholarships available). Valerie Fine is the class coordinator.
