| Dear Friends,
I read this recently while preparing for some upcoming changes at NewSong.
"It is easy to make change. Change happens. Even if we sit still . . . do nothing . . . change happens. It is more difficult to make good change. Change that makes life better. Change that endures. Change that persists."
How true. We live in a world that changes around whether we like it or not, whether we want it or not. Often, our response to this constant change is to resist it, preferring to have things the way they have always been. But, change happens. The challenge for us is making changes that matter.
With that in mind, we are changing a few things here at NewSong. They aren't drastic changes, they won't set your world on edge or cause you sleepless nights, but they are changes.
Beginning this Sunday, we are streamlining or morning worship service with a few changes to enhance the overall worship experience. I think you will like it, I hope you find the changes help you enter into God's presence and experience worship in deeper, more meaningful ways.
The temptation might be to say, "I like it the way we've always done it before." I can take you to a dozen dying churches who have that very response to change. One thing nice about being a new church: we haven't been doing anything for very long, so change should be welcomed and expected.
In the words of Marcus Aurelius: "Observe constantly that all things take place by change, and accustom thyself to consider that the nature of the Universe love nothing so much as to change. The Universe is change."
Or if you prefer it short and sweet: Change is inevitable. Change is constant. (Benjamin Desraeli)
Good Fishin and See you in church, Trey |
