Alan Fadling portrait 052009Good morning, ,

I've been enjoying my summer, and I pray yours has been good as well. Below, I've provided links to some of the most popular daily posts on my blog from the last month. Since moving alanfadling.com to Wordpress.com on May 1, I've had over 4,000 visits. The blog has been a daily writing discipline for me as I continue developing my writing and put together a book proposal this summer for submission.

Comments: I would welcome your responses, input, reflections, or any other kind of comment on these or any posts. I'm aiming to continue daily posts for the foreseeable future.

Here are some of the most read posts:
  • KEY: "A Call to Spiritual Formation" -  If you haven't already read this statement that came out of the July Renovare conference in San Antonio, TX, please click, review and become a signer of this declaration. I had the treat in participating in the crafting process, and being with the group who arrived one day early to finalize the statement.
  • Discerning Holy Desires - along with the companion post, Discerning Unholy Desires, these reflections on Galatians 5 received the most hits last month. I especially liked this line God gave me: "If I choose lust, I choose pleasure without love, excitement without joy, anesthesia without peace."
  • A Funny NT Wright Moment - I ended up in a clip of a couple of funny moments from when NT Wright spoke at St. Andrews Pres a few months ago.
  • My Oregon/California coastal cycle tour. Many of you know that a couple of weeks ago, I joined my brother and dad on a 375-mile, five-day cycle. I posted about my experience in a series of posts:
    • Preview day - I flew from Orange county to Portland to meet my brother and make our way to the starting line in Seaside, OR.
    • Part one - a few paragraphs at the start of the day.
    • Part two - a number of great memories looking back at day one.
    • Part three - a few pictures and memories from the second day of the ride.
    • Part four - memories from day three, including a side trip to a Christmas tree farm I often visited as a kid.
    • Part five - "nothing is impossible" sustained me through the close of the trip.
  • Sabbath Is - A quotation from Rob Bell on Sabbath and my reflections.
  • My Problem of Evil -  A great word from George MacDonald on personalizing all the arguments about the problem of evil.
Receiving Blog Entries by Email: I've mentioned before that you can subscribe to my blog by email. You'll receive an email whenever new entries are posted (and never more than one a day). NOTE: You'll be sent a confirmation email with a link to activate this service. If you don't receive this email soon after sending your request, check your spam mailbox. We've had occasional problems with this in the past).
As always, please feel free to use these blog entries in your own prayer relationship with God, as well as in any ministry settings where they might be of encouragement or use.  I'd also be grateful if you pointed any of your friends or collegues who might benefit from these daily posts.

May you have eyes, ears and hearts open to the generous grace of God with you today.

Glad to be sharing the journey together...
