Greetings

The weather is stormy and thoughts are turning indoors.  During the season of long dark nights we at QF spend more time experimenting with new recipes and sharing meals with friends and family.  We love the deep savory tastes of fall and winter.  New in the shop are three mustards that are ideal for culinary creations.  Find below one tasty combination.

A very delicious and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.  We are thankful for our ability to enjoy the flavors of the season, and to you for your continuing patronage.  We'll be enjoying food and family on Thursday, and will be in the shop regular hours the rest of the week.

Cheers,
Le Fromage Crew

Kozlik's Mustard

Horseradish Mustard, Triple Crunch, Double C

Did you know that Canada grows over 90% of the worlds mustard?  This Canadian company is certainly putting it to good use!  Kozlik's Canadian Mustard has been making mustard since 1948.  All natural and deliciously flavorful, their company motto is taken from the following quote:

"A good mustard should have heat, it should quickly rise up through the nose, bring a tear to the eye and then as rapidly, dissipate, opening all the senses to the full flavours on the plate."

-Mephasnifanis

These mustards are inspired kitchen companions, ideal as meat rubs, in vegetable dishes, or on your favorite sandwich.

Gorgonzola Piccante

The Other Gorgonzola

Gorgonzola Piccante, also known as Mountain Gorgonzola is a wonderful winter treat.  Firmer and sharper than it's younger cousin, Gorgonzola Cremificato.  This blue pairs beautifully with honey - we have quite a selection to choose from.

Prosciutto Di Parma

Pio Tosini Family

Another Italian delight - this prosciutto is considered one of the best.  It is aged a minimum of 500 days, at least 100 days more than most.  The Tosini family began producing prosciutto in 1905, and has increased production only once in 1938.  The process is still nearly completely family held, utilizing the particular environments of the Tosini family barns.  The really important thing to know is that it melts in your mouth - delicious on its own or in recipes.  We at QF highly recommend adding this to your Thanksgiving weekend shopping list!
