November is upon us, and with it, the wonderful American tradition of Thanksgiving. Bundling up, gathering together, and feasting on good food are wonderful aspects of this month. Here to help, we would love to ease your load around the holiday time by putting together stunning cheese selections on our signature leaf-lined wooden Brie boxes or elegant wine barrel trays. Call in ahead of time or taste through cheeses in the shop to find what you would like. Either way, as soon as you have your date set, you can alert us that you'd like a tray on that day, and we will start working with you to ensure you get just what you want.

Rivers Edge Chevre

An Array of Cheeses
River's Edge Cheeses
River's Edge Chevre, a farm near Newport, Oregon, is run by a mother and her two daughters, and soon after they launched into the cheese-making business in 2005, began gaining national attention.
One of their most recognized cheeses is Sunset Bay, a beautiful bloomy-rinded goat cheese with a fiery orange streak of Spanish pimentón paprika through its middle.
Astraea is the name of one cheese-making daughter as well as a wheel of raw milk cheese rubbed with extra virgin olive oil, Vietnamese cinnamon, dried chipotle peppers, and white pepper. Saint Olga is a younger washed-rind cheese, bathed in Siletz Brewery's Oatmeal Cream Stout (a local beer). Full Moon is yet another amazing goat cheese. With a bloomy rind and evolving interior, each phase of its ripening is immensely satisfying, from young and dense to fully ripened to savory flowing cream.

What's to be done with all that leftover turkey? Turkey sandwiches from a Thanksgiving turkey are an annual treat that shouldn't ever lose their enjoyment. To revive yours this year and truly satisfy your taste buds, smear a generous amount of Cranberry Shallot Relish or Apple Cranberry Pear Chutney on a piece of bread. Next lay down a layer of cheese (go for a blue like Colston Bassett Stilton, cuts of Brie de Nangis, sharp Quebec Vintage Cheddar, or a sweet full gouda like Vlaskaas...the possibilities could go on!). Finally, all you need is the turkey because these two other delicious accompaniments just make your palate sing.

To begin, you will find Peppermint Candy Cane and Gingerbread Toffee Bar newly appearing on our shelves. The Candy Cane is classically minty amidst dark chocolate and nails this cheery combination just right. The Gingerbread Toffee is a fabulous new presentation of this deep molasses flavor with a host of spices, being that it is incorporated into crunchy toffee bits punctuating a smooth dark chocolate.
