Greetings!
I hope that all is going well with you. Last newsletter I tried to hold onto summer and I am happy to report that I was pretty successful. It was warm here way into October. I was even able to swim in our river, The Oswegatchie, on October 5th. And even after that there were many warm days that I might have tried again, if we hadn't had a few cold nights in between. And today, as I write it is lovely and sunny. But I must begin to accept that it is Fall, so I am featuring some of my Fall pendants and talking about our most exciting Fall event , The St. Lawrence County Arts Council 20th Annual Artists' Studio Tour.

St.Lawrence County Artists' Tour
New Location for Artists Tour
The annual Artits' Studio Tour which is run by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council will be three days this year on Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 2, 3, and 4. I will be in a new location this year: My Own Studio. Unfortunately Isis Melhado will be not be able to be my guest artist due to unexpected family events. She will be greatly missed. But I will have some of her beautiful weaving for visitors to see and purchase.
Brochures for the tour are available from the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. Please click this link or you can call them at 315 265-6860.
I will be demonstrating making ceramic beads on Friday and you will have the opportunity to paint and glaze a couple of beads during that time. I will send them to you after they are fired. A great chance to try out this cool art form.
On Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 PM I will be demonstrating how to make a fused glass pendant. If you would still be interested in trying out glazing ceramic beads, that option will be available i.e. I will keep the glazing station set up for the whole weekend.
I will have many new pendants including my new Silver Raku pendants on display and for sale. I will also have fused glass pendants and some new FreeForm Peyote Stitch necklaces and cuff bracelets.
I have also been trying out new ways of stringing my pendants and will have a few of these new designs on display as well.
I look forward to seeing you, and showing you my studio and hopefully you will try out bead glazing or watch me fuse some glass. It should be a fun weekend.

Driving Directions from Canton: Take Route 68 and turn Left at County Rd 14 (Woodbridge Corners) and continue on County Rd 14 throught Rensselaer Falls, over the bridge and on out of town, still on County Rd 14, about 2.2 miles. You will see a sign announcing the Studio.

New From My Studio
Here are photos of some of my new silver raku beads. This is an exciting process that involves adding precious metal clay to the fully glazed bead before it is raku fired. Somewhere between the time it enters the kiln and comes out of the reduction fire, silver hues and silver metal spread out over the bead or pendant making for very unexpected and beautiful results. You can click on any photo and it will take you to my website where you can click again and see the photo enlarged and learn more about them.
