One of Daniel's big adventures this summer was a three week trip to Svalbard, Norway. It was part of his ongoing work for Polar Bears International in his quest to document the arctic. This part of the world is predicted to change dramatically in the next several decades and Dan is working on a creating a visual record of what we currently have before the changes take place. Take a look at Dan's Blog and the Svalbard Gallery of photographs.

| | Daniel Produces Three Films for Polar Bears International
| |
| |
This past week Daniel produced three, short educational films for Polar Bears International. Two of the films highlight the work of PBI scientists Dr. Steve Amstrup and Dr. Tom Smith. The third highlights Frontiers North Adventures. These are part of an ongoing educational effort to reach the young people of the world in hopes of inspiring them with the message of how climate change is affecting polar bears. PBI's mission statement is Conservation Through Research and Education.

| | Polar Bear Research with the National Science Foundation
| |
| |
Daniel has been invited by the National Science Foundation to document an upcoming expedition that will be studying polar bears in the Arctic Ocean. This is a first time ever science endeavor. What's unique about this project is that the NSF scientists will be capturing and releasing polar bears from an ice breaker 400 miles out into the Arctic Ocean. All other studies have been based on land, with short flights out onto the sea ice. This project intends to get much further out to sea to investigate the ice pack and the condition of the bears that live much further out. The entire expedition will be approximately 5 weeks in length and the data they collect will help scientists determine whether polar bears can live without sea ice. Daniel is the only still photographer and has an agreement for exclusive rights to the still images from this expedition. Contact Tanya if you have an interest in seeing images from this expedition.

you so very much for such a wonderful introduction to Yellowstone
National Park. You certainly made the trip an unforgettable experience.

an unbeatable combination. We will follow you anywhere." Linda & Steve Henry, Oregon
Steve is the guy that has the great shot of a polar bear carrying his tripod. The photo is being used in the current ad by Really Right Stuff. Nice shot Steve!
Kenya 2010 photography tour has four spaces available for the adventure traveler.
"You are the 'Makers of Dreams"! ...it has been a dream since childhood to travel to Africa to see the animals. To have the opportunity to do a photographic safari with you (both of you) was the gift of a lifetime. Your organization, communication, leadership, mentorship, and friendship were all of the highest quality throughout this experience. Having gone on the great Katmai bear trip, I had high expectations for the Kenya trip, and those expectations were exceeded everyday of the trip. When I show my pictures to friends, the comment that is repeated over and over again is 'I can't believe you saw and experienced all of that in just two weeks time!' Thanks, beyond words, to both of you for all that you did to make this opportunity available to us lucky folks..." Neil Lieurance, Washington See more of our Photographic Tours
