Christmas/Holiday Wish List and Shopping Experiences Available
It's hard to believe, but it's that time already - Holiday shopping time! Once again this year, we will have the Holiday Wish List to help your family members, friends or significant other with their shopping. So, be sure to stop in the store soon (Detroit or Mt. Clemens) and ask for the Wish List. Simply "window shop" and fill in the list, which we will keep on file in the store. Your family member can ask for the list to do the shopping.
When husbands, sons and brothers come in to the Downtown Mt. Clemens store to shop from your list on Men's Night Out, evening December 17, they will receive a 15% Discount. How great is that?
For Fisher Building customers, the annual shopping experience known as Shop Detroit is on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Detroit Synergy will host its third Shop Detroit event
from 10 am to 5 pm. Shoppers who register with Synergy at the Compuware
building will get info on discounts and promotions around the city, a
free People Mover pass for the day and a free shuttle to the New Center
shopping district. City Knits is a participant and is offering special discounts.
The Fisher Building will have its own gift wrapping station. The City Knits Consignment Boutique (near the register station) will have hand-made, hand-knit/crochet, hand-loomed, up-cycled and recycled items of clothing, purses, knitting bags, scarfs, etc. from staff members and/or local artisans for sale.

Why Join a Knitting Class Mt. Clemens answers the question~
Besides the obvious (learning to
knit, build skills and create beautiful garments), knitting classes offer so much more. A
class is a great place to meet new friends, relax, laugh, share stories, yes,
and maybe sometimes cry, and to solve the world's problems (if they would only
ask us).
Community service activities are
often born in knitting class. The "gal pals" in Wednesday's class at
Mt. Clemens made a contribution last Christmas to families from the Robbie
Parker Elementary School in Clinton Township. Last May, Virginia Bisby asked
the group if they would like to expand and support a backpack event for the
students at the Robbie Parker School. (Karen Hessler is the principal at the
school and is one of the Wednesday night "gal pals"). The group
agreed and the Macomb Women for Kids group was born. With Virginia's tenacity
and the group's dedication and hard work, 450 backpacks filled with school
supplies were presented to the students at the school on September 1, 2009. Plans are
to expand the program to two schools for next year.
Perhaps a knitting class is
"just what the doctor ordered" for you. Check out our class schedules
at the Fisher Building and Mt. Clemens stores.
