Memorial Weekend Hours

City Knits - Fisher Building will close at 5PM Friday, May 23rd and reopen on Tuesday May 27th, 2008. No Friday Night Knitting with Linda, No Saturday classes. Closed Saturday May 24th, and Monday. May 26th.

City Knits - Mt. Clemens will also close at 5PM on Friday May 23rd, but will open briefly on Saturday May 24th, from 10AM until 1PM.

City Knits - Guardian Building will close at 3 pm. Friday May 23rd and reopen Tuesday Mary 27th.

Often a driving holiday - Make sure you have your travel projects mapped out. 
When in doubt, socks or linen wash cloth in a great pattern is always a safe bet.

Detroit People Mover Knitting

The Detroit People Mover is "Up and Running" (is that a terrible a pun or what?) Announcing the resumption - Tuesday evenings of Knit-Arounds onboard Detroit's elevated automated guideway transit loop. Join us any Tuesday from 6-8 pm on the Fox 2 News Car of the DPM. Board at the station of your choice. Loretta from the Guardian Building store will be the City Knits escort on your needle arts journey. You know you've been meaning to: don't let another summer go by without rounding up some buddies and giving it a try!


Second Annual Stitch 'n Pitch
Sunday, August 10th

Mark your calendar: Sunday August 10 at 1 PM Detroit Tigers vs. the Oakland Athletics. We have a much smaller block of tickets this season than last. City Knits' share is only about 50 seats; therefore there will be no phone, email or US mail sales. In person, cash or check only. Watch your inbox for the date that sales begin. First come, first served. ["There is no crying in baseball . . . "] Thanks for understanding. Price (as yet undetermined) will again include a special souvenir bag. Wear your tee-shirt from last year, and come root for the home team.

Stars and Stripes Festival June 27-29

City Knits of Mt. Clemens will be participating with the Stars and Stripes, June 27-29, 2008 Kids will the love the Danish braiding game; Knit a few rows for charity on our community knitting bench or try your hand at spinning.


Special Class -The Princess Aurora Aran Sweater - an Original Design starting June 22

This beautiful sweater designed by City Knits instructor, Sandie Oden is even more beautiful when knitted up in Karabella's Aurora 8 yarn. Stop in the Mt. Clemens store to see this lovely sweater. The class will run for 5 weeks, starting on June 22, followed by June 29, July 13, August 3, and August 13, from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Tuition is $60. Register early and select your yarn to ensure sufficient yardage will be available for the class.

CityFest: July 2- 6th, 2008. During CityFest we will be open from 10 AM - 8 PM each day.

During City Fest, join us at the community knitting benches in front of the Shop.  No outside tent this year, but lots happening inside and out. Charity Knitting for COTS & a chance to introduce your neighbors to the joys of stitching.  Dear Customers: Teaching the youth of Detroit to knit and crochet is a tremendously rewarding experience! Special considerations (discount voucher & paid parking) for volunteering to teach a 3-hour shift outside. Please call to schedule a shift.
