"KNIT AND CROCHET TODAY" on WTVS
Sat, Sept 29, 6:30 am - HATS
Sat, Oct 6, 6:30 am - CABLES

THE ONLY "HOW-TO" SHOW ON PUBLIC TELEVISION DEVOTED TO KNITTING & CROCHET:
The show is underwritten by Coats & Clark, a global leader in thread and needlecraft products and owner of Rowan Yarns and SR Kertzer, two of City Knits' suppliers. Coats & Clark's commitment to the highest standards in needlecraft has allowed this program to feature high profile artists from the knitting and crochet industries.

The series is hosted by popular actress Kassie DePaiva, who plays "Blair" on ABC's daytime drama, One Life to Live. Ms DePaiva is well versed in the craft of crochet and, as a beginning knitter, she adds an entertaining and inquisitive presence to the show. Each 30-minute episode of Knit and Crochet Today will demonstrate both a knitting and a crochet project along with an informative tip section from design whiz Linda Cyr. The projects include making socks, purses, scarves, cables, working with beads, multi-color stranding and felting.
Special guests will offer their insight on hot trends, tricky techniques and more, while on-location coverage of trade shows and features on the therapeutic benefits of knitting and crochet add human-interest touches to the series. A behind the scenes look at Ms. DePaiva's other life on One Life to Live is sure to appeal to her fans - many of whom share her love of crochet. Patterns for all the projects will be offered free online.

Karen Kendrick-Hands' slip stitch purse design and how to will air later in October.
