San Marin Sports Boosters will host our annual adult fundraiser event this Saturday, April 23rd. Tickets are available ONLINE! Click here for more details! Tickets are $40 per person which gives you dinner (from Tagliaferris), access to silent and live auction and raffle items, and some initial gaming script to play various casino games. Parents! Please! Would you like to help out on Career Day?
We are in the process of recruiting speakers for Career Day, Wednesday, May 18th. Students were surveyed about their career interest and would love to hear about careers in public safety, business, arts and entertainment, health professions, the trades, and the nonprofit sector. Program will be a morning event and finishing up with a hosted lunch. We are looking forward to offering the students a great experience and a little taste of the real world!

EARTH DAY ART FAIR Friday, April 22nd - 4PM to 7PM @ Harvest Market
San Marin Art Department celebrates Earth Day by hosting an Art Fair at Harvest Market on Friday, April 22, 2011. Original art prints depicting the environment and current environmental issues, handmade greeting cards, and beautiful art platters made from recycled glass will be available for purchase. New artworks made by San Marin's talented art students will be on display. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to this special Art Fair. Harvest Market has graciously hosted this event for two years. Earth Day is celebrated around the world on April 22nd. It's intentions are to support environmental programs, rekindle public commitment and build community support around the world through a broad range of events and activities. Earth Day is the largest civic event in the world, celebrated by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a billion people participate in Earth Day campaigns every year.
What can you do for Earth Day? Volunteer. Go to San Marin's Earth Day Art Fair. Change a habit. Help start a community garden. Do something nice for the Earth, have fun, meet new people, and make a difference.

SUPPORT SAN MARIN ART DEPARTMENT FUNDRAISER! Dine at Mary's Pizza Shack on Monday, April 25th
San Marin High School Art Department and Mary's Pizza Shack are partnering to help raise funds to pay for additional art supplies. On this one day event, Mary's will donate 20 percent your purchase provided you present the special Mary's flyer when ordering your meal.
Mary's Pizza Shack serves homemade pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads and soups perfect for the whole family. The fundraiser includes dine-in, take-out, and delivery. Don't have time to stay? Mary's will donate 10 percent of gift card purchases on the event date. Those who buy a gift card on April 25th may use it later any time. .

Parents, teachers, students, administration, alumni and friends come join the Tour of Novato and ride 10, 25 or 50 miles; or support the cause and make a tax deductible donation to support one of San Marin's riders.

San Marin Drama presents Jane Eyre
The award winning San Marin Drama Department will present Charlotte Bronte's fascinating story, Jane Eyre, adapted for the stage by Willis Hall,on May 6,7,9, 13, 14, 16 at 7:30 pm. This story filled with mystery, romance and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. Published in 1847, under the pen name of Currer Bell, (women were not supposed to write books back then) Charlotte Bronte's book was an instant success and continues to be. Many versions of the book have been made into movies. The latest Jane Eyre movie premiered in March 2011. The book is no longer taught in most high schools.San Marin Drama Teacher, Linda Kislingbury said, "It's the book that gave me my lifelong love of reading. I bought 18 copies of the book for my advanced drama class and many students have told me they can't put it down.I am donating the copies to the English department after the play."

The Sustainable Sports Foundation is looking for volunteers who would like to support the Half Marathon, 10K or 5K on Saturday, April 23rd. Did you know that the Sustainable Sports Foundation donates 100% of the net proceeds to charity? This year's main beneficiary is The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. You can volunteer with a group of friends, colleagues, a cheer squad, triathlon club, or community group or you can sign up individually and meet new friends! All volunteers receive a race t-shirt and are provided with local & organic food and drinks to make sure they are energized for the event!
The success of the Marin County Half Marathon, 10K & 5K is based on the effort of our many volunteers.

FACEBOOK BOOT CAMP FOR PARENTS Wednesday, April 27th - 7PM
This workshop will provide parents with "hands-on" training in Facebook to provide guidance in setting rules for postings, understanding privacy settings and sharing appropriate information. SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - June 20 - July 29
The Summer Internship Program provides a 6-week intensive career exploration opportunity for students to gain hands-on workplace skills while learning about a particular career of interest. Students intern 9 hours per week with a local business or organization and work closely with a mentor supervisor. The summer program also includes a Career Management class. Internship applications are now available in the College and Career Center .

IT Training Internship for Graduating Seniors
Free IT Training for 18-24 year olds who live in the DC, MD, or VA, Providence, Boston, New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco Bay Area. Any one with a high school diploma or a GED who are between the ages of 18-24 yrs old and have an interest in IT Refer them to this sitehttp://www.yearup.org/to learn more about this free program. This program asks for a 1 year commitment between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. They provide the student with a stipend and after six months, internships at companies such as Freddie Mac and AOL to name a few.
