The CDC recommends that most everyone over 6 months still get the flu vaccine especially those who are at high risk of serious flu complications such as young children, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions.
People are encouraged to take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs such as frequent hand washing and covering the nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. In addition, people should avoid coming in contact with those who are ill. Avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth where germs live. Those who are sick with flu-like illness, should stay home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.
